Container Weights and Measures Guidelines |

Dillen was a participant on the joint horticulture
industry task force which met several times with the Pennsylvania Department of
Agriculture, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to develop
container labeling guidelines which comply with existing laws. The laws are designed to
permit consumers to make reasonable comparisons of like products by utilizing capacity as
a measure. The guidelines detail the 3 elements required to describe containerized plants-
on either adhesive applied labels, stick tags or local signage. Read the guidelines
carefully, but remember that this 8 page document distills the information found in a 250
